Founded in 2001 when a handful of Lakewood Ranch artists gathered in a park setting, Creative Arts Association had its beginnings as the “Creativity Group.” The intent of its founders was to promote the work of local artists and to bring about an awareness of art within the new Lakewood Ranch community.
From those humble beginnings in the park, Creative Arts Association (CAA) grew to become a recognized organization of professional artists and artisans. Today, the working members number 30 and CAA boasts a support group of more than 50 Ranch residents.
With a variety of fall and spring art shows held since its first offering in 2002, the local community has embraced the association and looks forward to their annual events. The 2010 Fall Art Show and Sale attracted well over 600 guests who viewed and purchased one of a kind work.
In addition, CAA periodically displays in art shows beyond the Ranch. They have held juried shows at ArtCenter Manatee and exhibited at the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Resource shows in Sarasota where ASID members are enticed to consider members’ art when working with their clients.
Individuals interested in the Arts are invited to join CAA either as a working artist or at the support level. There is no fee attached to the support level. Please refer to the Member Page for more information on how to become a member of Creative Arts Association.
