MARY MAKER DESIGNS
Having spent most of my career in the world of finance, I decided when I moved to Florida in 2002 to change my creative focus to something more tangible. As someone who has always admired beautiful jewelry, I decided to investigate the world of jewelry making by taking some classes at the Jewelry Design Center, ArtCenter Manatee and several beading stores. I loved it! I loved learning something new and designing and creating interesting, tangible and, to my eye, beautiful jewelry. With the encouragement of family and friends, I joined the Creative Arts Association of Lakewood Ranch. There I met artists in various mediums and participated in their spring and fall art shows.
It was so personally satisfying to see people wear and enjoy my jewelry, that I have kept on going. The inspirations for my designs are what people wear, magazines, catalogues, and, most of all, my imagination. Yes, I do dream about jewelry and find myself at my design table in the middle of the night working on something new!
