Jewelry

CAALR Board — Secretary

Teaching Art was my passion for 35 years. I taught in Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois and Florida. In Florida I taught Middle School for 15 years.

When I retired from teaching, I wanted to learn about making jewelry. We spent some of the year in North Carolina. It is a state that celebrates art. Where we stayed, there were two schools for learning about jewelry. I attended both for many years of classes — John Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC and William Holland School of Lapidary Arts in Young Harris, Georgia.

I have been making jewelry for 20 years. In Murphy, North Carolina I belonged to a group of artists that maintained a store and sold the artwork of their members. They have grown and still remain. In Bradenton, Florida I joined the Creative Arts Association of Lakewood Ranch. I have been a member here for at least 15 years.

I enjoy working and making friends with my fellow artists. It is always a pleasure to see customers appreciate your work. Thank you to all.
